SUSPENSION FOOTBRIDGE OVER THE RIVER INDALSÄLVEN

5 km from Bispgården towards The Dead Falls and Hammarstrand

Visit the suspension footbridge over the river "Indslaälven" between the villages Österede and Edesmoarna, Bispgården, Sweden.

The bridge is newly repaired and 109 m long.

Follow the sign at highway 87 to the village

From the turning point you have to walk about 500 m down to the suspension Footbridge.

A calm place where you can enjoy the sandwiches you have brought.

The newly rapaired suspension bridge

The suspension bridge was built 1914 and became an important link between the villages on each side of the river. The stream was rapid until the beginning of the 50th when the Svarthålsforsen Hydro Power Station was built.

At Österede you could find both a school and the main railway up to the north of Sweden. To day about 50 goods trains are passing (many with iron from the mines in north) and some pessenger trains, not stopping.

Manners change with the times, but even now you can find our great nature, added with interesting sights.
